Core Capabilities

An empirical survey's topic to be researched is often adjusted to suit the survey methods available. This is different at infas: the design of a survey is not predetermined by its topic. For instance it determines whether a longitudinal or a cross section survey (panel) will be conducted.

infas can rely on manifold experience in both survey types, i.e. establishing and running panels, retrieving and administering the respondents' willingness to further participate in a panel as well as strategies to avoid panel mortality. All strategies concerning panel establishment, panel maintenance and panel data collection will thus be understood as systemically linked measures, which are interdependent and interrelated.

Elaborate pretests are essential for successful surveys – independent of design. infas conducts them in each survey upon consultation with and under participation of the respective client.
