Unions and workers

Research concerning industrial relations and internal organisation of employees has a long-standing tradition at infas.

As early as 1963, the institute carried out surveys on industrial societies in companies on behalf of trade unions. In the 1970s and 1980s, the humanization of the world of work focused on issues of working conditions, indicators of job satisfaction, changes in the political awareness of workers, and the image of trade unions and public participation.

Under the influence of technological, economic and geostrategic change, the focus is increasingly on changes in industrial relations, securing work and reducing mass unemployment and inequality in wages and employment risks.

infas conducts regular surveys in the field of associations and trade unions. These include:

  • member surveys for trade unions and associations,
  • works surveys,
  • surveys of employees,
  • image analysis for unions.
