Political research belongs to the traditional infas research areas since the end of the fifties in Germany. infas has set methodological standards in electoral reporting that are still valid, and has driven policy research in Germany for decades.
While election forecasts or voter migration analyses at infas have recently taken a back seat, political research today is increasingly concerned with evaluations of policies and legislation.
The infas Institute also offers the entire methodological spectrum for studies in the field of political research, defines the study design according to the study and draws adequate random samples. As a general rule, political research works exclusively on exclusive sampling. Different survey methods are used – often in combination in multi-method studies.
Regular infas studies in this area:
- evaluations of policies,
- research on the political participation of the population,
- replicative surveys on the political opinion in the population,
- analyses of political extremism.
